THE INTERNATIONAL PROMOTION AND THE LOCAL DEVELOPMENT

The Parrhasian Park Friends Association
is a non-profit organization, founded in 2013 to support in any way for the establishment of the first National Heritage Park by the Greek State in the region of the central Peloponnese aiming towards its international promotion and local development.
The Association operates in collaboration with the Parrhasian Heritage Foundation, the International Society for Arcadia and the International Voluntary Organization, as well as with the Hellenic National Committee for UNESCO.

Primary target is the utilization of the existing network of local paths connecting the villages and the important sites around the peak of Mt. Lycaeon for the use of the international trekking and mountaineers community. Info kiosks, signs, hostels, restaurants and resting areas, as well as shops with local products and service stations will be established on the route of the 100km. The network will join the most important archaeological and natural beauty sites and will offer opportunities for participation in guided tours, mountain and river sports, and other activities.
The project is under implementation with funds by the Prefecture of Peloponnese.
